A cozy, non-alcoholic autumn mocktail blending chai tea, warm spices, fresh citrus, and sparkling water for a festive, refreshing drink.

Last fall, I whipped up this chai fizz for a cozy night in. Its warm spice and citrus notes turned an ordinary evening into something special. Friends loved the creative combination—even the skeptics!

Ingredients

  • Chai Base: 1 cup water, 2 chai tea bags, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 whole cloves, 2 thin slices fresh ginger
  • Sweetener & Citrus: 2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey), 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • To Finish: 1 cup chilled sparkling water, Ice cubes
  • Garnish (optional): Orange slices, Cinnamon sticks, Star anise

Instructions

Make the Chai Base:
Bring 1 cup water to a simmer. Add chai tea bags, cinnamon stick, cloves, and ginger. Simmer gently for 5 minutes.
Strain & Cool:
Remove from heat. Discard tea bags and spices. Let the concentrate cool slightly.
Add Sweetener & Citrus:
Stir in maple syrup, lemon juice, and orange juice.
Fill Glasses:
Add ice cubes to two glasses and divide chai mixture evenly.
Top & Serve:
Pour 1/2 cup chilled sparkling water into each glass. Stir gently to combine.
Garnish:
Add orange slices, extra cinnamon stick, or star anise. Serve immediately.
